Bail Set For Arson Suspect

Bail has been set for the other suspect in a Watertown arson.

18 year old John Long of Brownville was arraigned yesterday in Jefferson County Court on arson and other charges & entered a not guilty plea and his bail was set at $30,000 cash or $60,000 bond. He and his alleged accomplice, 18 year old Scott Munson of Watertown, had been held in the county jail without bail since their arrests in February. Munson's bail was set on Wednesday & he's also being held in lieu of $30,000 cash or $60,000 bond. Long and Munson are accused of setting a February 19 fire at a large building on Newell Street, which injured two city firefighters. A grand jury indicted the pair on charges of first-degree assault, third-degree arson, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree criminal mischief, third-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief, & third-degree assault
