Posted by news on 1/12/2018 4:16:00 AM.
Some good business news for a company with several locations in the area: Walmart is raising its starting wage to $11 for all hourly employees nationwide. With officials crediting the White House tax overhaul for the change in payment policy.

Currently, Walmart employees throughout the country make an average of $9 per hour, which increases to $10 after training is completed.

In a statement to employees, Walmart's CEO said the new, lower business tax rates that President Donald Trump and Congress recently approved expedited some of the mega-retailer investment plans.

The news comes as Walmart plans to shutter several of its sister Sam's Club locations throughout the country.
