Primaries are in the books, and in the race for Watertown City Council, four of the five candidates now move on to the general election.

The challengers unofficially took the top three spots, with Lisa Ruggiero earning the most votes (1,148), followed by Ryan Henry-Wilkinson (1,123), Cliff Oleny (724) and incumbent Theresa Macaluso (626) finishing in fourth place.
With the least amount of votes, incumbent Stephen Jennings (578) came in fifth, meaning he will likely not be on the ballot in November. The results won't become official until the 100 or so absentee votes are counted.
Jennings, who lost a primary for mayor two years ago, will have served one term on council.
