As expected, thousands of mourners attended the services for slain New York State trooper Joel Davis over the weekend.
Calling hours were held Friday, and the funeral where trooper Davis was remembered by friends and colleagues was Saturday at the McGrath Sports Complex on Fort Drum. Law enforcement agencies from nearly every state were represented for the tribute.
It was just over a week ago when trooper Davis was shot in the line of duty at a residence in Theresa. Soldier Justin Walters stands accused of first shooting his wife Nichole to death, before then shooting trooper Davis, who was first officer on scene.
Walters remains behind bars this morning, charged with first and second-degree murder.
